Chicken makes you itch: The intersection of nutrition, culture and medicine in Lao PDR  


Wednesday November 4: Networking 5-6; Speakers 6-7

Join us for over November GCAND Member meeting! Networking will take place from 5-6, followed by a CPE presentation by Joanna Cummings, MS, RD, CNSC titled "Chicken makes you itch: The intersection of nutrition, culture and medicine in Lao PDR."

At the end of the session, the attendee will be able to:
1. Describe the challenges and opportunities of establishing a national nutrition screen for a low-resource country
2. Identify differences in culture, knowledge, and clinical operations that impact conducting nutrition screenings and nutrition focused physical exams in a low-resource country
3. Apply lessons learned from Lao to rural and low-resource populations in the United States  

Registration is REQUIRED (click here).   Meeting is free to GCAND members, $18 for nonmember professionals, $8 for nonmember students.  After registering,  membership will be verified or non-members will receive a link to pay.  After verification or payment,  registrants will receive an individualized link to join the meeting.  Please register at least 48 hours prior to the event, registration after this time may not lead to timely verification and thus attendance cannot be guaranteed.
