Virtual Public Policy Day

Once again, we will be meeting virtually to convene the Ohio Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics Public Policy Day. Feedback from last year’s attendees was overwhelmingly positive so we are meeting once again through a virtual platform.

We strive to help all nutrition and dietetic professionals learn not only about policies at the state and federal level, but how to use your expertise in nutrition for the advancement of nutrition care and services. Registered dietitian nutritionists, nutrition and dietetic technicians, certified dietary managers interns, and students can all have an impact in overall public health and policy development, therefore your legislators need to hear from you.

Objectives:

At the close of the session, the dietetic professional will have:

  1. Up-to-date information on Federal legislative issues affecting dietetics
  2. Current information on how nutrition professionals are implementing federal policies related to nutrition in the state of Ohio.
  3. Increased awareness of the need to advocate on nutrition issues with legislators and other policy makers.
  4. Increased awareness of the role of dietitians in the implementation of policies related to child nutrition at both the state and federal level.
