About OAND

The Ohio Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics (OAND) is an affiliate of the Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics (AND), the nation's largest organization of food and nutrition professionals. OAND was established in 1921.

OAND's 3400+ members are highly qualified nutrition professionals including Registered Dietitian Nutritionists (RDN), Nutrition and Dietetic Technicians, Registered  (NDTR) and dietetic student members of AND. OAND members represent a wide range of practice areas:

  • medical nutrition therapy
  • public health
  • sports nutrition
  • diet counseling
  • food service management
  • hospitals
  • restaurants
  • long-term care facilities
  • education systems

OAND will provide ongoing opportunities for professional and personal growth and development.

OAND is the source of empowerment for Ohio's nutrition and dietetics practitioners.

Operations:

OAND has nine (9) Districts and is governed by a Board of Directors comprised of 13 officers and District Presidents. Goals of OAND's Strategic Plan direct actions of the Board. OAND sponsors an Annual Conference of continuing education for dietetic professionals. OAND's Legislative Chairman works closely with state legislators and agencies on public policy affecting consumers and the practice of dietetics. Members offer nutrition expertise to healthcare organizations, businesses and the media. OAND's Executive Director maintains its Executive Office.
